The PHCC of California was proud to represent at the PHCC GLAA FLOW EXPO held in Long Beach, CA on April 25th. The sold out venue was host to over 5000 industry plumbing-heating-cooling professionals and their affiliates. The PHCC GLAA continued their strong support of the CAPHCC Copper for Kids program by donating $2500 at the PHCC GLAA FLOW EXPO in Long Beach, CA in April to their local agency, Children’s Bureau, enhancing our visibility and efforts’ effectiveness in the Greater Los Angeles Area. Julio Jaime, President and Roger Lighthart, Secretary/Treasurer of PHCC GLAA presented the $2500 check to Children’s Bureau.
PHCC GLAA Executive Director Sandi Soleta writes, ’Our members are community minded, especially in regards to children and veterans. They have responded to Copper for Kids and the call to action. We believe that every child should have a forever home.’
The PHCC GLAA also hosted PHCC National President Chip Greene, and PHCC National President-Elect Patrick Wallner (shown below with Jerry Threlfall of PHCC GSA Training Facility). Wallner remarked, ‘This show had to be one of the best that I have attended over the past 25 years. The biggest request that I had working at the PHCC booth was from younger folks asking about the training program and who to talk to about getting started. This was really exciting to see.’ When asked for his impression of the show, PHCC National President Chip Greene told us, ‘My first thought was, “what a production!” I had no idea of the magnitude of this show, nor the effort involved in pull it off. Kudos to Sandi and Dorman for putting on such a great event’. He also said, ‘I was extremely impressed with the traffic throughout the show. It was steady all day, and that equals satisfied vendors who feel that they are getting good value for the money they spend on the show.’ Chip & Susie are friends of PHCC of California, since their visit to PHCC WEST in Monterey in 2013, and thanked all of the members who showed he and Susie a great time, making them feel right at home.
The PHCC of California Apprenticeship Contest was held in conjunction with the Flow Expo. Four apprentices battled it out, and all performed admirably. See below for contestants:
