As 2023 gets underway, it’s a great time to think about ways to improve your business offerings. New state and federal incentives for efficient heating and cooling are being rolled out this year, and layering them with affordable financing will bring projects within reach for more Californians than ever before. Together they can be powerful tools to help grow your business.
GoGreen Financing is a State of California-administered, utility-supported program that facilitates attractive financing for energy upgrades, including heat pumps, conventional HVACs and water heaters. GoGreen Financing charges zero dealer fees to contractors, carries no prepayment penalties, and requires no property lien. Customers must receive gas or electric service from an investor-owned utility (PG&E, SCE, SDG&E or SoCalGas).
Through GoGreen Home, homeowners and renters can access up to $50,000 for energy efficiency projects. Low interest rates (starting at 2.98%) and extended terms (up to 15 years) make for affordable monthly payments, and credit scores as low as 580 qualify.
Through GoGreen Business, small- and medium-sized businesses, including multifamily properties, can access from $5,000 to $5 million for energy upgrades. The program offers below-market interest rates, extended terms and the option for borrowers to repay on their utility bill. Many participating finance companies offer contractors pre-funding or progress payments.
