Milwaukee tools implemented the Apprentice of The Month to showcase talented students who continuously go above and beyond to further their education through the PHCC GSA Training Facility. Selection is based on work ethic, classroom performance, attendance and cumulative grade. For the month of April, Milwaukee Tools partnered with the Training Facility to name third year student Jason Mullinax as their selection.
Before pursuing plumbing as a career, Jason worked in the emergency medical services field for 8 yrs. He admits that he would still be working as an EMT if he weren’t if he hadn’t become a plumber. Jason joined the training facility to improve his knowledge of plumbing systems and codes. The biggest obstacle that he has faced so far has been “finding the confidence to use the skills and knowledge that have been acquired in order to get the job done right”. Although he is excelling academically Jason says “The ability to solve math problems on the the job site is sometimes a challenge . Tim Rutledge, the PHCC GSA Training Facility’s instructor, says he believes that “Jason has the ability to not only succeed but excel in anything he tries. He has the mindset that is key to accomplishing any goal he sets for himself”.
When asked if he would recommend PHCC GSA Training Facility, Jason said “I would recommend the school to a new plumber to improve plumbing skills and knowledge. PHCC has a great program with lots of hands on learning. The Training Facility is important because it teaches a valuable set of skills that are required for a successful career in the plumbing industry.
We celebrate this accomplishment, and look forward to what’s to come from Jason. We wish him the best of luck as he continues his plumbing journey through the PHCC GSA Training Facility. Congratulations Jason Mullinax on being Milwaukee Tools April Student Of The Month.
