Sacramento, CA, October 31, 2016 – The PHCC of California Board of Directors, along with leadership & staff from local chapters across the state were proud to represent California at PHCC CONNECT 2016 at the Marriott Rivercenter Hotel in San Antonio TX on October 18-21, 2016. PHCC of California accepted awards for achievements in 2015 including Chapter Excellence, Legislative Excellence and Communications Awards for Best Website, Best Social Media & Best Membership Materials. PHCC of California Apprentice Contest Winner Jorge Martinez of Mauerhan Plumbing, Inc. won 3rd place in the National PHCC Plumbing Apprenticeship Competition.
‘PHCC of California members have much to be proud of’, said Geno Caccia, President of CAPHCC. ‘California PHCC is leading nationally to bring the ‘best in class’ member services and leadership to our organization, and we appreciate being recognized by our national association’. Caccia, along with Tracy Threlfall, Executive Vice President, accepted the PHCC National Chapter Excellence Award for 2015: for outstanding achievement in both management and service to the PHCC of California membership at the PHCC CONNECT Leadership Luncheon.
Patrick Wallner, newly installed President of the PHCC National Association said, ‘CAPHCC’s recognition for their achievements at CONNECT was well deserved. Congratulations to the leadership, the members, and Tracy and her staff in Sacramento for all their accomplishments that has made PHCC of California shine. Past President for first half of 2015, Mike Barker stated, ‘I was proud to serve as President with such a committed and talented board who support the work that supports our association. I believe strongly in PHCC of California, and our ability to reach a wide audience in supporting our mission statement and key initiatives.’ Past President Louis Senteno, who served as President in the second half of 2015 said, ‘It was a privilege to serve our state association, and I thank Tracy and her staff for their efforts in supporting our strategic initiatives, they do a tremendous job.’
Apprenticeship and training are at the core of every PHCC of California chapter, and PHCC of California Apprentice Contest winner Jorge Martinez of Mauerhan Plumbing in Los Angeles demonstrated this with his 3rd Place win at the PHCC National Apprenticeship Contest. Said President Caccia, ‘ Jorge’s win is no surprise, as PHCC of the Greater Los Angeles Area continues to be the benchmark for apprenticeship training excellence. Their chapter is leading the way for quality education in our industry’. Jorge’s employer Bruce Mauerhan of Mauerhan Plumbing, Inc. said, “We at Mauerhan Plumbing could not be more proud of Jorge. He is the kind of employee that is always up for any challenge presented to him. He is constantly honing his skills and is an asset to our company.”
PHCC of California also accepted awards for Legislative Excellence in 2015, and SPECTRUM Communication Awards for Best Social Media, Best Website and Best Membership Materials. Said Executive Vice President Tracy Threlfall, ‘PHCC of California believes strongly in the power of social media to reach people and tell our story. With tens of thousands of views on Facebook and LinkedIn, we are letting people know about great jobs in the plumbing-heating-cooling industry and what services PHCC can provide for the plumbing-heating-cooling professional.
