John Stevenson of John Stevenson Plumbing Heating and Air is awarded the PHCC of California Contractor of the Year at PHCC WEST 2022 in Lake Tahoe, NV
John Stevenson, Owner of John Stevenson Plumbing, Heating and Air in Carlsbad, CA was presented with the prestigious PHCC of California Contractor of the Year 2022 Award at the annual PHCC of California conference, PHCC WEST 2022 in Lake Tahoe, CA on May 19, 2022. Stevenson has served on the PHCC of California State Board alongside the industry leaders in plumbing-heating-cooling contracting since 2015 and served as President from 2019-2020. A PHCC member since 1999, he has also served on the PHCC of San Diego Board of Directors and served as President of the PHCC San Diego Chapter from 2004-2005. Per Stevenson, ‘The relationships between PHCC Contractors and members have kept me involved. It is all about helping one another learn, grow and empower our industry and employees.’
Since 1964, the PHCC of California Contractor of the Year award has been a time-honored tradition of our association and is the hallmark of PHCC Service, Dedication, and Achievement. For the past 32 years, Stevenson has been whole-heartedly invested in the plumbing, heating, and cooling trade. Stevenson stated, ‘We are really blown away; it is an honor to even be considered in the conversation for PHCC of California’s Contractor of the Year among so many deserving contractors in the state.’
When asked what has kept Stevenson Plumbing, Heating and Air successful and growing for 30 plus years, Stevenson replied, ‘We learn from our mistakes, come up with solutions, and keep moving forward.’ Stevenson continued, ‘The relationships between contractors and members in PHCC have kept me involved. It is all about helping one another learn, grow and empower our industry and employees. I would like to see more employee-focused companies. It’s not about us as owners. It is about the employees, and their commitment, enthusiasm, and focus”. Stevenson relies on the PHCC Academy of San Diego for training his technicians, from apprentices to journeymen.
Aside from plumbing, Stevenson is a family man, married to his beautiful wife Connie for 41 years, father of 3 and grandfather of 8. When asked about retirement, Stevenson replied that he loves coming in every morning, seeing the team and being involved, but also looks forward to watching the leadership and employees taking the reins, and continuing the success of John Stevenson Plumbing, Heating & Air.
