The PHCC of California Excellence in Safety Award recognizes a Contractor Member who demonstrates safety as a core value that permeates the company culture. The Contractor Member also models safety to the rest of PHCC and the construction industry; sending every employee home in the same—or better—condition than which they arrived and a maintaining a culture in which each employee views the safety of others as just as important as their own.
Dustin Teemsma of Ideal Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical was born into a family of plumbers and took to his career with a passion like none other. He is not only a committed technician to the service of his customers, but he provides those training under him the care, compassion and patience that they deserve. He is a past board member for the PHCC San Diego and is a huge supporter of the PHCC San Diego Academy and through his efforts, gives Ideal Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical a great reputation for safety within his team and within the community he serves. He is known by his team to ALWAYS put their safety first.
Dustin and Ideal Plumbing, Heating, Air & Electrical maintain a very consistent training schedule that reiterates and updates best practices in employees and customer safety on a weekly basis. They offer shadow programs to their employees new and old which gives added bonus to someone who may need extra help in the field.
