The California Building Standards Commission and Department of Housing and Community Development, in consultation with the State Water Resources Control Board and other public and private stakeholders, have begun coordinating the development of mandatory recycled water building standards pursuant to AB 2282 (Gatto, Chapter 606, Statutes of 2014).  These activities are currently in the precycle phase, which will culminate in the development of proposed building standards to be promulgated during the 2016 Intervening Code Cycle.  For any questions on the development of these mandatory building standards, which will become effective statewide July 1, 2018, please contact the California Building Standards Commission at (916) 263-0916.
