It is a privilege to serve on the PHCC of California Board of Directors.
As someone who has grown up in PHCC, I was honored to be asked to serve on the Board in 2014. Louis Senteno and Pat Wallner pulled me aside at the convention in Disneyland, and asked me if I would serve, and I was excited to learn more about our state association.
I served as a three-term Director before ‘moving up the chairs’ and becoming your President. I’ve attended meetings all over the state, met with our members and affiliate partners, state and national elected officials, and support our staff as they work hard daily to further our mission statement.
Now it’s your turn. This is YOUR association, and as PHCC members, we all owe the industry that has put the food on our table, supported our families, and paid the taxes that support this great state of ours. By serving on the Board of Directors, or as a Committee member, you participate in setting the course of our association and provide governance to ensure we adhere to our strategic plan.
Yes, it’s a time commitment. It’s an investment. And it’s not always convenient. It is, however, an opportunity. An opportunity to be counted among the leaders of our association. To ensure that we continue to educate our members, and expand opportunity to a workforce that may not know about what great opportunity awaits in our trade. Provide insight and counsel on public awareness, member resources and organizational readiness. To serve, protect and engage on behalf of our great industry.
