PHCC of California Association Coordinator

Job Summary:

This entry position into association management will coordinate membership, marketing, and fundraising activities for the PHCC of California association, the PHCC GSA Training Facility, and the PHCC of the Sacramento Valley Chapter.  This position is fast-paced, demanding, and incredibly rewarding with career-making potential and room for advancement.  The successful candidate will support the Chief Executive Officer of the PHCC of California/PHCC of the Sacramento Valley and the Director of Apprenticeship of the PHCC GSA PUAC.

Membership and Marketing activities include:

  • Assist with membership recruitment, retention, and engagement plans for PHCC of CA companies and in support of PHCC GSA Training Facility and PHCC of the Sacramento Valley;
  • Create agendas and minutes, and attend quarterly board meetings for PHCC of California and PHCC of the Sacramento Valley;
  • Solicit sponsorships and donations from industry-based affiliate partners;
  • Solicit memberships from the plumbing-heating-cooling contractor community in the Greater Sacramento Area;
  • Manage membership records, coordinate with accounting and maintain the membership database for PHCC of California and PHCC of the Sacramento Valley;
  • Write newsletter and magazine articles, blog and social media posts;
  • Assist with website, social media, and brand management for PHCC and its subsidiary companies including the development and production of printed and electronic materials;
  • Assist with development and implementation for member recruitment, new member onboarding, retention, touchpoints, exit surveys, and staff the Membership and Marketing Committee;
  • Assist the Director of Apprenticeship/Event Planner in developing, promoting, and coordinating events such as Legislative Day, the annual tradeshow and holiday party for PHCC of the Sacramento Valley, member webinars, open houses, and golf tournaments;
  • Staff tradeshows and outreach events, including coordination with and participation in affiliated organizations’ events around the state.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Foundation and Training Program activities include:

  • Write newsletter and magazine articles, blog and social media posts;
  • Program promotion, including creating newsletter articles and social media posts for online and pre-apprenticeship programs such as eLearning and Fast Track;
  • Promote giving campaign and sustaining donor programs, fundraisers/fundraising including relationship building and information on website, outreach to members/contractors, newsletter articles;
  • Make presentations to high- and middle schools/classes, coordinate with teachers/superintendents/CTE Coordinators community outreach and recruitment for workforce development programs
  • Create agendas and minutes, and attend quarterly board meetings for PHCC GSA Training Trust and PHCC GSA Training Facility;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Positive outlook, emotional intelligence and leadership ability is required.
  • Association management experience is a plus, including managing membership and coordinating committees.
  • Experience in developing and implementing a marketing plan with agreed-upon objectives.
  • Strong writing, computer, and organizational skills including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite are required.
  • Website platforms such as WordPress and Social Media tools including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Tik Tok, etc.
  • Must use reliable own vehicle for business-related travel reimbursed at IRS rates. CA Driver’s License, clean DMV, and proof of auto insurance are required.
  • High School Diploma/GED required, college degree appreciated, with 5 years of experience in related fields.

Physical Demands

Bending, reaching, lifting various materials (up to 20 lbs.), and sitting for long periods of time, using office equipment and computers.  Intense concentration is required and sometimes with multiple distractions in the immediate area.  The position does require travel and driving a reliable personal vehicle.
